Alex Chappo is a Brooklyn based multi faceted artist. He is a performer, musician, composer, storyteller, editor, visual artist and wire sculptor.

MUSICIAN/COMPOSER

Alex has composed music that has been featured in films, commercials, and TV. He has been the front man of the psychedelic Brooklyn rock band CHAPPO since 2009. HIs songs have appeared in commercials ( iPod, Sears, Verizon, Samsung, Progressive, NFL apparel), TV shows (The Big Bang Theory, HBO’s Crashing and Hung, Nbc’s Up All Night, ESPN) and movies (Shark Night, indie films etc). His band has played all over US, Canada and UK and played Bonnarroo and Osheaga festival; they have opened up for the Flaming Lips, of Montreal, and Imagine Dragons. Alex has also scored music for short films. Alex created a stop motion short film called “The Singularity.” It premiered at several festivals including Bushwick Film Festival. The short used music from the band’s concept album Future Former Self.

EDITOR

Alex is an editor proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro and has experience working in After Effects. He is able to work quickly and with a creative force. He has edited music videos, short films and instagram ads. Being a musician, Alex approaches editing with music and sound in mind.

VISUAL ARTIST AND WIRE SCULPTURE

Alex creates 3 dimensional wire sculptures. His wire sculptures have sold across the United States and are currently available at Scott’s Design Store in Dallas Texas. They capture a 2d line-drawing exploring 3d space for the first time. The sculptures play with perspective and depth and trick the mind as the image can snap into focus or collapse into abstract lines.
